The journey to get to the Library is part of your excursion experience, so before your trip read about the logistics of booking and coming to the Library. 

Session times and booking

Sessions for all our learning programs are offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 10am – 12pm.

To make a booking or enquiry please set up an account to use our online booking system and submit your request using the online booking form.

A member from our Visitor Experience team will contact you via phone or email to discuss your booking. 

About the Library

How to get here

The Northern Territory Library is located within Parliament House State Square, 4 Bennett Street, corner of Bennett and Mitchel Street, Darwin City. 

If you are catching a public bus the best bus stop to alight is the Darwin bus terminal. From there cross the road and walk through State Square to arrive at Parliament House. 

Security at Parliament House

Security screening is a standard practice for entry into Parliament House. It is preferable not to bring school bags on your visits to avoid delays.

Where to Park

For smaller school buses parking is available on the Esplanade. For larger buses please contact City of Darwin Council to find out where larger buses are able to park in the CBD area. 

Refreshments

A café is located in Parliament House or self-provided morning tea can be taken onto the lawns adjacent to the Supreme Court or on the lawns of State Square. Please note that food and drinks are not allowed in the exhibition space, with only bottled water allowed to be consumed within other Library spaces.
