Archie Roach 'Tell Me Why' in conversation with Liz Trevaskis
- DateWednesday, 11 December, 5:30pm - 7:30pm
- LocationNorthern Territory Library, Parliament House, Darwin
Not many have lived as many lives as Archie Roach – stolen child, seeker, teenage alcoholic, lover, father, musical and lyrical genius, and leader – but it took him almost a lifetime to find out who he really was.
Roach was only a few years old when he was forcibly removed from his family. Brought up by a series of foster parents until his early teens, his world imploded when he received a letter that spoke of a life he had no memory of.
Join Archie Roach in-conversation with ABC Darwin's Drive radio presenter Liz Trevaskis on his memoir Tell Me Why. Roach's story is an extraordinary odyssey through love and heartbreak, family and community, survival and renewal - and the healing power of music.
About Archie Roach:
Roach’s song ‘Took the Children Away’ won an International Human Rights Achievement Award and his first album Charcoal Lane featured in US Rolling Stone magazine’s Top 50 in 1992, going gold in Australia and winning two ARIA awards.
